Perfume collection and morning pick · iOS and Android

Your shelf, in one photo.
The right scent every morning.

Point the camera at your bottles. Scentary recognises them, builds your collection and suggests every morning what fits the weather, the occasion and the season.

No account required, no ads, no analytics SDK. Collection, diary and bottle photos stay on your phone.

How it works

From photo to collection in a minute.

  1. Photograph your shelf

One photo of your shelf is enough. Scentary recognises the bottles, several at once, and crops each photo for your display case.

  2. A pick every morning

Your collection, the season, the weather in your city and what you wore last turn into one suggestion with a reason.

  3. Wear it and keep it

One tap and the day is in your diary. Ratings, notes, a wishlist and monthly cards to share grow with it.

  4. Friends see your shelf

If you want: a handle, an invite code, and friends see what you collect and wear. No email, no password.

Your data

What leaves your phone.

Recognition and the pick are done by a language model. That cannot happen without a transfer, so here is what is transferred and what is not.

stays here

Collection, diary, ratings, notes, wishlist, bottle photos and settings. They live in a local database and in the app’s documents folder. No automatic sync, no account.

goes out

The photo you scan — encrypted to our server function and from there to Anthropic. The server does not store the photo; only recognised brands and fragrance names go into the shared catalogue.

goes out

For the morning pick: the names of the fragrances in your collection, your chosen occasions, the season, the weather and the app language. No photo, no diary text.

goes out

The weather: the coordinates of the city you typed in, straight to Open-Meteo. No access to the device location, no key, no account.

goes out

Only with a profile: handle, display name, the fragrances on your shelf and one entry per day saying which one you wore. Friends who have your invite code see that. Nobody else.

goes out

Technical request data: IP address, a pseudonymous app user ID, platform details and daily counters. They protect the service and cap the costs.

Fruhji writes neither the scan photo nor your diary text to a database, cache or application log. Anthropic normally deletes commercial API inputs and outputs within 30 days and does not use them for model training by default. Everything else is in the privacy policy.

What Scentary is not.

  • Not a shop.Scentary sells nothing. The “Where to buy” button opens a retailer’s search in your browser, nothing more. Whether you buy is decided there.
  • Not a review platform. There are no public reviews, no leaderboard and no strangers looking at your shelf. Only friends you invited.
  • No guarantee for a model’s nose.Recognition, blind-buy risk and dupes are estimates by a language model. They can be wrong. The smelling is still yours.

Common questions.

Does the app really know every fragrance?
The app starts with a catalogue of hand-written entries. Anything missing is looked up by the model during a scan or a text search and added afterwards, niche, drugstore and Arabic houses included. If a fragrance is so new that the model does not know it, the entry stays empty and you can add it by hand.
Do I need an account?
No. Collection, pick, diary and scanning work without signing up. Only when you want to show your shelf to friends do you create a handle. Even then without email and without a password.
Does the app work offline?
Collection, diary, photos and wishlist live on the device and are always there. Scanning, the morning pick and the friends list need a connection because they happen elsewhere.
Is my location tracked?
No. For the weather you type in a city; its name and coordinates are stored. The app never asks for the device location.
What does the app cost?
Up to 15 fragrances on the shelf, three scans a day and one morning pick a day are free. Pro removes the shelf limit and adds 30 scans a day, new picks on demand, blind-buy risk, dupes, wardrobe gaps and monthly cards. Price and term are shown in the App Store and on Google Play, where they are binding.
